#36 A slow week
Hi! I hope your week has been going well. I wanted to write something more serious like last week but it’s still in the works. So I am sending some things I read and watched in the past few days. Tell me if you like any. Also, I made this mini tartelettes aux framboises, they look prettier than they tasted. But the pastry base was excellent!
Who gets to be beautiful with Jessica DeFino from a newsletter-podcast series called Maybe Baby. You would have to look for the episode in the link since it is private feed. I found this interesting because the beauty writer Jessica Defino talks about how we probably don’t need skincare and discusses why certain beauty ideals are normalised.
Double Standards of Ageing by Susan Sontag. It is an old 25 page essay written by Susan Sontag in 1979, so it is a bit outdated of course. But it is an interesting read nevertheless.
Cal Newport on Tim Ferris. They discus slow productivity and how Cal Newport, a computer scientist, professor and a famous writer has successfully avoided social media. Listen to it on 1.25x, both of them talk really slowly.
That’s it for this week!
